Innovative
For a faster and automated making of structures.
VEXA Innovative Solutions Department takes care of the design and construction of special equipment to satisfy the specific requirements of every site. Our systems answer the need to increase safety at the workplace and to significantly decrease execution times and costs.
VEXA analyses the project and evaluates its feasibility, designs and creates equipment and automations, supplies technical support during the construction. The high-standard functioning of our innovative solutions is possible because of the harmonious teamwork of experts with sound experience and cutting-edge design software.
VEXA Innovative Solutions Department works in Italy and in other countries. Our team can count on professional experts who, over the years, have designed remarkable special equipment. Their contribution made it possible to optimise the work of construction sites all over the world, in countries like Algeria, Albania, Argentina, Morocco, Croatia, Slovenia, Belgium, France, Taiwan, Russia.
LAUNCHING GANTRIES
To launch manufactured articles in prestressed reinforced concrete it is necessary to start from the specific features of the construction site. Our launching rigs, also known as launching gantries, are created ad hoc applying the oil-hydraulic system technology.
Currently, a standard format for this kind of equipment does not exist. This implies that these rigs are not available on the market as “readymade” machines. Because of the specific features of every construction site, it is fundamental that these rigs are specifically made.
For a good launching gantry, one must first take into account the construction typology of the deck, which can be made either of beams or of ashlars. VEXA carefully studies the features of every project, considering the construction site’s requirements.
Our highly qualified team interacts with the purchaser, identifies the optimal solution and pursues all the operations necessary to make the equipment for the launch. As an alternative, we also offer the overhaul and the optimisation of the launching gantries that the purchaser already possesses.

Travelling formworks and support trestles for FREE cantilever casting
These self-launching machineries make it possible to proceed with the progressive installation of the ashlars. They are extremely useful in two situations. First of all, with those decks whose spans are especially elevated; but also in those constructions where the height of the pier prevents from using other construction methods.
They are definitely suitable on distances between 80 and 170 m that include broad bends. For greater distances – up to 700 m – we instead provide a stay system.
The equipment is primarily composed of two main structures. They are anchored to the deck, symmetrically to the pier axis, to which the frameworks of the side, back and inner formworks are overhung. The motion of the rigs is always and entirely possible thanks to oil-hydraulic systems. When necessary, the machineries can also be operated by radio.
EQUIPMENT FOR LAUNCHING WITH
THRUST
In the thrust launch technique, two fundamental points are the production of prefabricated modules and their installation. For these two functions it is possible to use the same special equipment.
To simplify, this machinery is made of formworks, a fore-starling and a system for installation. The formworks are used to make the prefabricated modules. By using oilhydraulic systems, the same modules are then pushed forward and placed in the right position for the installation.
During this operation, the forestarling has the important function of supporting the manufactured piece until the work reaches the following pier. All movement operations of the machines are always carried out with oil-hydraulic systems and, where necessary, also with radio controls.

SELF-LAUNCHING FORMWORKS
EQUIPMENT
This kind of equipment automates and accelerates the installation of the bays. The self-launching formworks represent innovative solutions since they facilitate the works on those bridges and viaducts whose spans are around 70 meters.
The equipment is made of two main beams with fore-starling (“avambecco”) and back-starling (“retrobecco”). The beams are positioned parallel to the deck to build. At the two sides of the piers, they are supported by transversal tracks with roller conveyors. At the top of the beams there is a “pan”, a container equipped with altimetric and geometric adjustments, suitable for the casting of the bay.
Once the casting and stressing operations are completed, thanks to the self-launching system, the formwork goes forward to the next bay. It is then possible to rapidly proceed with the new casting.
FORMWORKS FOR PREFABRICATED ASHLARS
Infrastructure building sites do not only require installation operations. The prefabrication of ashlars is also often requested. This is a delicate phase, which these formworks allow to optimise.
The ashlars prefabrication entails following a coordinated pattern to work with the rest of the building site. It often happens that there are the conditions to execute this kind of operation separately from the launching zone.
In this case, to simplify the prefabrication it is convenient to use the specific formworks. Once they are ready, the ashlars are loaded onto special carts, moved to the launching area and installed.

LARGE CARTS
These large carts (“carrelloni”) are special equipment. Their use is recommended for those building sites where temperatures are especially low.
With this equipment it is possible to store the manufactured articles during the coldest periods. By doing this, once the weather conditions get better, it is possible to proceed with a faster installation. The large carts answer two fundamental needs of a building site: they act both as a bridge crane to store the prefabricated ashlars and as means of transport.
This means that, by using the same equipment, the ashlars are kept in optimal conditions and then moved to the building site for their installation with the launching gantry.
